Start a NEW Career
as a Medical Assistant

Employment of medical assistants is projected to grow 29 percent from 2012 to 2022, much faster than the average for all occupations according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The growth of the aging baby-boom population will continue to spur demand for preventive medical services, which are often provided by physicians. As their practices expand, physicians will hire more assistants to perform routine administrative and clinical duties, allowing the physicians to see more patients.

As medical technology continues to advance, doctors are increasingly relying on medical assistants to help with various patient care needs. Most medical assistants work in the offices of physicians while others work in public and private hospitals, inpatient and outpatient facilities, the offices of other health practitioners such as chiropractors and optometrists and in nursing and residential care facilities. MIHT offers a medical assisting program designed to provide you with knowledge and skills necessary for entry-level employment as a medical assistant in a medical office or clinic, with skills in office administration, and clinical areas.
